Description

Spanning the months in the Summer and Fall of 1940 that became known as the Battle of Britain, Clash of Wings allows you to command the British Royal Air Force or the German Luftwaffe. Direct the squadrons of either air force in a struggle for air supremacy over the English countryside as the fate of Britain hangs in the balance. Setup patrols, raids, and interception missions to thwart your adversaries efforts. Transfer squadrons to shift the balance of your forces, direct production efforts and bring new technology to bear. As the battle rages on, your pilots will suffer casualties, acquire experience, and gain or lose morale as the fortunes of your units ebb and flow.

Simple

While the game is designed to be easy to play, as you drill down, a complex simulation runs in the background. The basic unit size is that of a squadron or gruppe, but every aircraft and pilot is modeled, including reserves. Reserves flow into your units automatically based on priorities that you determine.

Detailed

Extensive research went into every flight model to ensure that aircraft perform to historical benchmarks. Weather patterns mimic the real world conditions on that particular day of the conflict based on historical weather information, or you may opt for randomly generated weather, allowing each game to play out differently.

Flexible

Want to find out what would happen if Britain’s radar network was less effective? Or how the RAF would fare had the Spitfire not come into service when it did? A myriad of options and randomization allow you to see how things might turn out differently in a conflict who’s outcome stood on a knife’s edge.

Evolving

With your input, we hope to create a deep and satisfying game play experience. Visit our forums and let us know what you want to see in incorporated into Clash of Wings. It’s our intention that this is but the first in a series of aviation centered strategy titles.
